Happy New Year, everyone. It’s an exciting time again when the year is fresh, and we think that everything is possible. Plans are big and interesting, and we are looking with enthusiasm into the future. Can this feeling last? I think it can if you pay some attention to it. If you pause to track, review and adjust, as needed. If you do it weekly. Because every passing week counts. Every Monday Counts.
How often did we start something new just to let it slide sideways in the endless chores and emergencies of daily life? We procrastinate, postpone, de-prioritize the things we know we need to do. The important things. The things that will “move the needle”, get us closer to our goals, and make us better people. Sometimes weeks go by without progress and we got frustrated, discouraged and eventually abandon a goal or a dream.
How to avoid all this? I argue that we need to make every week counts. What if at the end of each week, you would ask yourself a few questions? Was it a good week? Are you closer to your goal today than you were a week ago? Did you learn something new? Are you happier? Are you a better person than you were a week ago?
That’s it. This is a real reason for the many things we do in life. To Be a Better Person. Not only for your own sake but so you can be a better person to the people around you. And that’s why I am, not being different from any of you, a student and a fellow traveler on this journey. And I believe that in this exciting quest, Every Monday Counts!
